Cat In The Hat Birthday Party

               Someone turned 2 years old!
Thank you for joining us once again! Our sweet little Patrick recently turned two years old! Since he is very fond of Dr. Seuss Cat In The Hat book, it seemed the obvious choice for his birthday theme.

So Thing 1 and Thing 2 got busy with putting together a little Cat In The Hat party for him and we want to share a little of the party with you!

Since no Cat In The Hat party would be complete without the iconic red and white striped hat, we made up some treat holders using t.p. rolls, white construction paper and Washi tape.

We wrapped the t.p. tube in white construction paper than wrapped Washi tape on the the paper in three different spots. We cut 3 inch circles and glued them to one end of the tube, making that the bottom. We used a white pipe cleaner around the base to cover up the glue and make it look finished.

Lastly, we filled them with some sweet treats and a little sign.

The dessert table held an assortment of treats of which was a  homemade birthday cake on a cake pedestal we made long ago by gluing a candle stick and plate together. To make it more fitting for the theme, we used Washi tape around the base.

Candy cups filled with goldfish crackers and wrapped in cupcake wrappers with bright Dr. Seuss prints added fun and whimsy to our little thrift store find red shelf.

Using a few store bought items never hurts. We used Oreo cake cookies in cupcake papers and a red plate of assorted cookies. We also made some Cat In the Hat treats on a stick{far right corner}.

We plan on sharing with you soon some "how to's" on our Cat In The Hat party. So we hope you will check back and get sick of seeing all the details.

The birthday boy wearing a colorful striped shirt and licking cake off his fingers!

As long as weather permits we always have some type of water play at our outdoor parties for the children. They just love it and it is so simple to put together.

Looks like birthday boy went for a little swim to cool off! Making special birthday memories for the children in our life is something we love doing and sharing with all of you! And our hope is that our children will look back in years to come, and find a happiness memories.

Nor detest His correction;
For whom the Lord loves He corrects,
Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
